Having been involved in the direct sales industry both as a trainer and a business owner for over 20 years, I agree with Melanie completely on the subject of your “personal board of directors’. Without the support of the people around me, there would be no ‘me’. I now run 3 companies, take (long) holidays and have time to volunteer.
My ‘check’ is to measure whether the task MUST be done by me or can it be delegated or outsourced.
I’ve learned over the years that I don’t have to do everything, that there are very capable people who can take on the tasks and that my business doesn’t let me warm my cold feet on its back when I get into bed at night!

Yes…when staying in ‘check’ with ‘MUST this task be done by me’ or can it be delegated…I tend to ask myself this question first: MUST this task be ELIMINATED!…
Margarita and I have been simplifying and eliminating a lot lately as a result of our rock star assistant going back to school as of January…(YIKES…I will sure miss her…) In the spirit of keeping it simple…we decided NOT to hire someone else for the moment…to force us to distill our tasks and actions that have gown over the past few years.
We’ll see how we do!
